CA diesel fuel tax

It has been too long and I've forgotten too much. And who knows what they've changed. So, fuel tax in CA. You still pay based on how many miles driven within the state? How much per mile? I think they charge 88 cents a gallon toward IFTA? Thanks.

It's been 2 years since I went to California last time, but I don't think they changed much, if anything about IFTA. But they do charge $ 0.853 a gallon, the highest tax in the US followed by Pennsylvania at $0.785 and very closely behind it is Illinois at $0.757.
