c-link question

Can anyone tell us how to put your messages from c-link to cell phone when you are delivering and out of the truck? An message 8 will not work as your still under load. We lost a chance of getting a load, because it took more than 10 minutes to unload and get paperwork signed. Spoke to safety and dispatch and they have no idea of what were talking about! Any options we may not be aware of please inform. Thanks:)

I dont know what happened,if you receive the messages on your cell when you are layed over and c-link is on,you should get the pre dispatch load messages too.I know mine works that way.If you dont get those messages, contact Tom in C-link,he can set you up.

The only workaround this problem that I found is to call your CC and have him/her set you up to receive a text message on your cell phone when you get a load offer on the c-link. When you get the text message, run to the truck and ....

haha nightcreather, you beat me to it by a few fractions of a second. :)

I see Ive changed my name, lol have a great holiday. From his post, I think he gets the messages when he's laid over,if so he should get them when at delivery too. With the new dispatch system, some other truck would get it anyway, unless he was right on top of it.

Proximity is no guarantee. Two weeks ago while sitting in Las Cruces NM I accepted an "opportunity" for a pickup in Scottsdale AZ. Another truck I know was sitting in Phoenix and accepted the same "opportunity." I got the load. While it paid sufficient "all miles" to meet my minimum criteria, it obviously would have paid better per all miles for the other truck as his DHPU would have been much much shorter.

This and other conversations with drivers in the past few weeks have convinced me that FDCC is, in addition to searching the internet for loads to keep the trucks busy, "spreading the wealth" when it comes to the available work. I'm not complaining, just observing.

I did not wish to post this on an open site but as I have not been approved on fecc here it is did you all know that dispatchers can pick the number and which trucks get load offers down to one truck and who. Iwas told this after a load opp went to another truck and we where sitting 10 ft away and didnt even get a ping and i called our cc. kind of puts the fair dispatch idea in the air.

J J there are many reasons why you being on top of the load didnt get it,same as there are reasons you may should have.Yes the dispatcher can pick 1 truck or 20 trucks, and easy load probably will go to 1 truck

If you have any question in your mind about being dispatched around take the time to spend a little time in Green and watch how the trucks are dispatched. They do not have time to pick trucks to dispatch.

The agents at FedEx Custom Critical don't pick the truck that gets the load, DVA does. It's based on 20 different things. The only way an agent can bypass a truck is for a load that is a quick pick up. When they have to do that a screen will pop up and they have to put a reason why they are doing it. Agents will not skip a truck unless you can't make the pickup on time. It's not worth them losing their job and when they do it a CC will check into it and see if it was a good reason. If you take the time to go into the home office in Green Ohio, you can sit with dispatch and have a nice lunch on FedEx.

There are many of us on EO that have done this over the years, TeamCaffee, Leo, Steve,Ateam, and many more.
