You should look for a 1 ton extended van at the very least
I don't think the 2500 is a 1 ton?

Depends on what your going to do with it. Myself you need a 3500 or a 10k/gvw. At a minimum an Extended 3500.
Myself no more c/vans just a max or similiar. To me if you can't get 3 pallets or more in it with doors at least 55 or better tall and carry 3500-4000 pds your missing freight.
But like I said that's me. Depends on where your located, who or what your carrying. Need more info.

I should say, if your looking at getting into expediting.....A 2500 is a fine van otherwise:)

I wouldn't say it's impossible, but Florida isn't the best place to live if you like going home. Most of expediting seems to be in the Midwest. Guess it depends on which company etc etc etc

I wouldn't want to have anything less than a one ton van. It can be too hard on the equipment otherwise.

Same here with 380k 4.8l. I don't feel I've missed on not having a one ton, especially factoring in fuel savings and cheaper maintenance on a 3/4 ton (parts costs)

i have had a 2005 4.8 3500 extended GMC for 4 yrs..it has over 410,000... great van...i have driver in it ow...would I buy another one based on the carriers needs that I am with? Not a chance....I was losing a minimum of $750 a week buy not having the ability to haul taller and more skids....That is why I moved the purchase of my Cargo Max up 6 months before the planned date...

The carrier you are with will dicate what type of unit is best more then anything else.....

Ask Guido about the difference between the demand for a CV and a bigger unit.....he is a "testament" to it....

But between a 3/4 or 1 ton extended I see little difference. I have a driver in mine too. She has a gas card, credit card, Macy's card...
