I have just had my hood repainted and need to protect the front of it with one of those black bug shields that go all away around it....having trouble finding one for this truck either from frtlr. Or online...any suggestions?? Truck is a 200.4 fl-112. Thanks frank

Frank , They actually Dont really work.
Here is a Pict. of my First 2 trucks , Click to enlarge.
for over 400,000 millage we looked for any evidence that this is a good investment , its not , unless you like the way your truck look.
it will actually suck the bugs right back to the hood , and we did not see any different as to how many bugs we need to clean from the wind shield.
we think that the truck air flow is deferred with the bug shield on.
especially with side wind ,as we can feal the front end ruddel ,
then we took the shield and install it in the other truck ,and guess what ?...we swap trucks all the times ,so we can tell the diffrant .
now i know this is not the rezone you are asking your question ,just wanted to share my experience.

A bug shield is not a good idea as it really hurts your fuel mileage. The bug shield can cost you as much as a 1/2 mpg and for that kind of money we can clean off a lot of bugs on our windshield.

very true the real cost of a bug shield is more than the paint job

Agreed on the reduction in MPG's.

I constantly wax the leading edge of the hood and that helps with the bug removal and I persoanlly believe it helps protect the paint from small objects striking that area.

One thing you can purchase is a clear film that bonds to the hood area instead of using a bug shield.

As others have said, I never saw a reduction in the number of bugs striking the windshield when using a bug shield. I used one to protect the leading edge of the hood.
