Is there an advantage to signing on with a company as an o/o versus just getting loads straight from broker(s)

Just back story if you need it
I've driven otr tractor trailer and understand the lifestyle part of the job.

If I decide to expedite I will most likely sell my house and "live" in the van so I would rather own my own van for that reason

Driving T/T and living in a van is not the same lifestyle.
You can own a van and lease to a company.
That’d be my second choice.
Staying out of a van, my first choice.

I was saying van in general terms, could be a sprinter, etc

I didn't keep up my cdl and I have no interest in straight or TT

My main question was what's the benefits of signing on with a company vs getting loads straight from brokers

Ok
You're talking about illegitimate brokers who rip you off.
And Yes it probably makes more sense to learn the business before doing something like selling my house
I've read through the forums I've read 2000 miles in a van
Some of your Faq links are broken

And keep in mind if selling your house. You need some place to call home other then the van for tax purposes, or you may risk losing your per diem.
