As of now, the company believes the investigation centers around a very small number of customers who said their rebates were not paid, but Pilot Flying J disagrees with the accusations.

Hmmmmmmm seems the voices of a few may have been heard loudly...

I don't believe that excuse unless when he said it was a few he meant a few thousand. If it were just a few that didn't get their rebates it would be a civil issue involving small claims court, not an FBI raid.

Who owns 49% of Pilot ?
Therein may lay the problem.

It's not Arabs (for some bizarre reason, a common myth), if that's what you are getting at. PilotFlyingJ is owned by FJ Management (out of Utah, no foreign ownership or investors), Pilot (wholly owned by the Haslam family), and CVC Capital Partners (headquartered in London and Luxembourg with 18 offices in Europe, Asia and the US, owned by mostly British and German investors, was a spinoff from Citicorp Venture Capital). CVC owns 47.5 percent of the Travel Center business which they bought from Marathon Oil. Pilot still owns 100% of the standalone convenience stores (the ones that aren't Travel Centers).

I like how the first statement they released said they were cooperating, but did not know the nature of the investigation (since, apparently, no one bothered to read the warrant), and they have done nothing wrong. Which means, of course, they know exactly the nature of the investigation and they know exactly what they did wrong.

Now it's morphed into a "small number" of trucking companies who did not receive rebates. Which means not a single one of them did, and that they likely reported the rebates as being paid and therefore did not pay federal taxes on the rebates they didn't pay out. :D

Or...
Could some office personal be diverting the rebate checks to accounts they control. Like the baby's college fund. Or Johnnie's New Corvette Fund ?
Hoping some big companies wouldn't miss all or part of the rebates .

Didn't Obama sign a bill recently allowing the Federal Government to just take over any business that they wanted, without an reason or recourse? Is this possibly just our government starting to take more control over the people by taking over some of the larger companies? They have given themselves the right to do a takeover, just so they can gain more control and power!!!!
