Depends on the company, either a 16 ft or 28 ft.

Nothing less than 16.

Diesel, no doubt, Diesel.

Before you do anything you need to read back at least 1 full year in the general, newbies, and recruiter forums as well as reading the entire newbies faq section. Doing that will provide a wealth of information, far more than this inquiry could possibly generate in replies. After you've read back at least 1 full year in those sections you need to at least consider driving for someone else for 6-12 months to determine if this is for you and also learn the ropes on someone else's depreciation and maintenance bills. Bigger is better no matter what sizes you consider and whatever you choose should be bigger still. Good luck.

Are you referring to a straight truck or a cube truck? If you are going with a cube (box trucks with van or pickup chassis) make sure you go with one under 10,001# gvwr. Any vehicle larger than that requires a DOT log, vehicle inspection and higher liability insurance. If you are going to mess with all that hassle just go for a 26' straight truck with a sleeper. Even then you will have to run as a team in order to make any money. If you are going to run as a single I would suggest sticking with a van or under 10,001# cube.
