Just to note, I ended up needing rivets for 4 or 5 bracket fasteners for my shelving along the wall in the back of the van, as some of the screw holes wore loose and were stripped (mainly of my own enthusiastic doing). A $20 rivet tool and a $5 pack of rivets did the job.
If I were installing E-track on the walls of a truck, I'd probably just use all rivets, but if using only screws or a combination of rivets and screws, I'd make sure I used something like
LOCTITE Threadlocker Red 271 Permanent on the screws (these are clickable links to Lowe's, if you're not familiar with Threadlocker). Use
LOCTITE Threadlocker Blue 242 Removable if you think you want to more easily remove the screws later. If you notice any screws working lose anywhere, Threadlocker will fix 'em right up. Just use the appropriate color. The
Red needs a heat gun and hand tools to remove, the
Blue just needs hand tools.
