Bonded Load Question

If you read they are not always stored in a warehouse. For example,I have a product leaving Canada that is going to be loaded on a plane at an American city and flown to Ireland, that shipment would enter the US in bond because it won't enter commerce in the US. If some how that changed the US would keep the bond, in other words the US would not lose any money on import.

So your shipment is only passing through the US which it would be issued a temporary bond

Sorry, don't want to hijack the thread but you sound like your upset because you didn't receive any detention time? If not why not? Or was it just measly compensation, enough to not make it worthwhile? Or did they keep stringing you along with the promise of "it'll be cleared soon"?

I think more miffed because panther doesn't have a clue about border crossings... When I did border crossings I used to see panther drivers bouncing off the walls they had no idea

Roadrunner, thanks for the link. It was very informative. There were a lot of nits to pick. My top nit was the fact that a van can not haul bonded loads. The next time a shipping doc says In Bond I will not allow it to be loaded without a long talk with the expedite company.
Thanks again for the link.

A van absolutely can haul a load in bond provided it has a bulkhead and a way to fasten a seal to rear and side doors (such as small loop rings).
