Hi, i am new to this site. Got an offer to drive for fleet owner. Straight truck team operation. Leased to Fed Ex Custom Critical. They have 4 or 5 trucks.20% of load and they pay fuel, maintenance, and tolls. Sounds extremely low. Anyone had any dealings with this owner. I heard 60/40 or 65/35. Owner lives in Nevada. This is new to me.Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks, tarheel59

That is the second lowest pay plan I have heard of. I met one O/O that hired co-drivers straight out of CDL school to get their 6 months experience in tractor trailer. He paid them $200.00 a week and said they were "glad to get that...more money than they ever seen in their life."

Now if it is %20 to each team member, %40 to the truck, that is %5 better than Expedited Services. However, ES drivers can access FedEx dispatch activities from anywhere in the country in increments from 25 to 400 miles and in 7, 14, 30 & 90 day summaries. That is a significant advantage over other fleet owners and well worth the %5 difference. They also have better discounts then FedEx.

If i was to go with a program, I would not consider any other fleet owner because they don't have that system.

Thanks bubblehead, It is 20% to each driver. Expediter Services also has contacted me. Trying to find co-driver to team with. No luck so far. I am approved with Fed Ex CC and they sent me info on how to do orientation. Thanks, tarheel59

That is a standard pay plan for owners, 40 % split between drivers but you should get 100 % of anything you as the drivers
do ( hand unload or load ), stuff like that to split between you. Talk to the owners drivers, ask him for 2 or 3 names of present and past drivers !!

I may know that owner. I think they are running under es fleet owner program. Those fleets have access to all the advantages es has also. I would inquire about that. We run our fleet under es fleet program as well and our drivers consistently do better than people running 35% under es. Our only disadvantage is we have a waiting list of drivers and can't keep up with buying trucks at the pace ES can.
