I've been a huge Blues Brothers fan since the day I saw the movie in the movie theater in 1980 something.

Here, they stop in at Ray's Music Exchange to get some instruments. Not only do Jake and Elwood find the instruments for their mission, they also see a rendition of The Five Du-Tones' "Shake A Tail Feather" sung by Ray Charles.

The song features dancers performing a myriad of dances from the 1960's and 70's, like the monkey, the twist, the mashed potato and more.

What started off to be a pretty funny SNL skit quickly turned into "Hey, these guys are pretty goood."

You can recognize a dance and know it's name? Gee, you must be really old!:p

With that band behind them they couldn't miss. I saw them at Pine Knob and it was one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Belushi stuck his head inside one of the tall speakers on the side of the stage while the band was full tilt jamming. He also did several back flips.

Yeah, they went out and recruited some of the best R&B and Jazz musicians around. A few were already in the SNL band, like the horn section who among other things had all previously been with Blood Sweat and Tears, but the rhythm section was mostly Staxx Records studio musicians out of Memphis who were members of Booker T and the MG's and the Mar-Kays who backed up on hundreds of recordings of artists including Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, and Sam and Dave on the original recording of "Soul Man." That's why the Blues Brothers' version of "Soul Man" sounds so good, because it's nearly the same band that played on the Sam and Dave recording. Listen to the Blues Brothers version above and then the original. It's pretty awesome.
