The win by Big Brown was awesome! It was a GREAT day to be in the Bluegrass!!!

UPS does not have a ground expedited company.

Maybe the Derby was UPS's way of rolling out the new expedite company that has been so often rumored. Think of it, horse-drawn vehicles powered by hay burning race horses. No diesel fuel required.

The horse was named after UPS - one of the owners evidently had a big contract with them.

What happened to their Express Critical trucks. Do they still have any of the leasees left over from the Emery/Menlo takeover, or do they now just handle it as a 3PL?

I don't know the answers to your questions but has anyone seen UPS ads on tv for
UPS Freight.

I am the resident expert (emeritus UPS expert).

I've been doing their overflow critical work for almost 12 years.

I've exposed wantabees on this site claiming to be "recruiters" and have explained UPS corporate missions even to those who would not listen.

When UPS decides to fully commit to the expediting field, they will buy their way in.

Hope this helps, and be safe.

UPS does have an expedited division-UPS Express Critical. I was an Owner/Operator with them from 07/03/07 until 05/03/08. I was based in El Paso, Texas and mostly handled their air freight, with an occasional "hot shot" from El Paso to Laredo, Texas, Nogales, Arizona, and once to Kokomo, Indiana. I wish that I could have stayed with them, but they did not have the volume of work that I needed.
