better resting place in Dallas area

Well, back when I was in a big truck, I didn't have much choice of where I parked, so I guess I wasn't too choosy. But now that I can park anywhere, the Flying Hook on I-20 doesn't look so good, especially with the restaurant downgrade. Is there a better place to hang than truckstop row along I-20? Not particularly interested in hanging at a Walmart. Someplace with shade would be nice. Where do CVers go?

I usually check Streets and Trips to find either a Walmart or a hotel nearby that has a lot of eating establishments near it that I like.

We go out to the Petro on I20 in Weatherford. Just west of Fort Worth. No lot lizards, panhandlers, wheel polishers or crack heads. Food there is pretty good most of the time.

we are kinda' partial to the Cracker Barrels, there is one just south of I-20 on I-35E..Desoto,TX.;)

And the flying J not looking so good is a huge understatement.

Go hangout around Love Field area. Strokers bike shop and Strokers Icehouse and tattoo shop within walking distance. Watch the planes, hangout with the bikers and get a tattoo. Have you ever seen a drunk H E L L S Angel signing kareoke to his biker babe in front of all his buddies? Now that's fun!!!
