Broom asked me to post this, seein as he's driving right now. He'll be there late at night on a Sunday, so no worrying about traffic.

What way do you take out to Long Island (via the LIexpressway)?

Can take the LIE or 27 (sunrise hwy) its a local road lots of lights, but can move better than the LIE

Really depends on which way he's going. North/South bound. If he's going Southbound out of Ct./RI. etc.take the Van Wyk (678)south. Assuming he's on 95. Takes you right to the LIE (495).If the Met's are away, might not be toooooo bad. As far as Northbound is concernd,it's a toss up.He can cross the GW bridge and take the Van Wyk that way. OR, he can take the exit for the outer bridge crossing(440),take that to the BQE(Brooklyn Queens Expressway)and hope for the best. BQE can be a real tough road to travel.NO MATTER WHAT TIME IT IS. If he takes 27,expect ALOT of lites and some REALLY tough neighbourhoods. I can getr him out to. Sometimes that's just as tough.

One other thing. If he get's really turned around(easy to do)send me a PM with his pnone # and I'll help him out. I have a map of the 5 boroughs right here.

Heck... I just told him take 95 to the Throgs Neck to the LIE. Seems the easiest way to LI. I always take the White Stone to JFK. Either bridge goes to 495. Just can't see any reason to get off the expressways.

Thanks you all!!! Made out great no problems in or out other than a stalled 18 wheeler just before the GW on my way out but only caused me to loose about 20 minutes but seemed like 2 hours.

Went in GW than down to Throgsneck or 295 than 495 very clean and simple. Thought I was gona be here for a while, two other trucks in front of me it was raining cats and dogs over 7 inches in 24 hours. Got a call just as the rain slowed pick up 13 miles from where I am at and deliver it to less than 30 miles from where I live.

Guess where I am at now?

Once again thanks I appricate your support.

PS I was comming from Dallas via OK City, OK great run followed by a trip home. My company had 5 trucks at the two PUs and everyone said better me than them, well look who's home now. This was a load from above everything worked out great. And to all of those reading I cannot say enough about a little tip I got regarding a great truck stop I mean a real truck drivers truck stop. Midway truck stop X-16 one I-78 food WOW deserts DOUBLE WOW, nice parking with a great view triple WOW, and service from the staff this is what trucking and truck stops is all about so stop in Bethel PA X-16 on I 78 you will never be dissipointed there.

Let me tell u somthing U lucked out thats it was raining, Why? Because it was raining all the weekend construction was postpones, I have lost 5 hours of my life in the last 18 hours that I will never get back sitting on the whitestone expressway BQE & the Gowanus. Took me an hour to go 1/2 mile, took me over two hours to get from Staten Island to MSG for the Ranger game today. I hate this city (some times)
