Being fair for the contract driver

It does Irk me when a Owner screws a Newbee on the terms of the contract. This is why I have been such an advocate of OWNING YOUR OWN TRUCK... No One To Screw You out of what is yours. Many on this site though dissagree with my thoughts.

Some Research on here would prove my previous writings. So Chuck for you to make the comment about Company OO and your generalized statement shows little effort to do your resarch and to stick up for the Bird. I was in your corner agreeing. You have been welcomed on here but keep throwing one negative post after another with all of your problems.

I wish you well, but the direction you are going you seem to sinking fast and turning supporters against you. Wished I could help, but the help I offered was on here long ago its up to the individual to do his homework prior to findiing out the problems associated with getting into a business relationship. Its all here just needs to be looked up and read first.

excuse spelling and puncuation
why couldn't there be set up a post like
I or we drove for so and so and the reason we left was for contrac differances
the reason is that a few of these fleet owners are realy screwing thier drivers with the company's blessing
the first two fleet owners i drove for still owe me monies and if it wasn't for going to jail i would take it out of thier back side
and i have ran across drivers that have driven for them to and have had the same type of problems with them
so i think something could be set up in such a way that thier names could be put out there so an new driver could benfit from someone's goof up and still not put the eo in troble

The problem that I see is that alot of time the driver thinks he did nothing wrong but he did and that I believe is were EO would be liable unless the put some kind of disclaimer on that posting forum. The bad part is that usually when you do have a fair case they have ripped you to the point of no money to go after them, these are not the type of cases that a lawyer will take on commission basis.

yes i could higher a lawer but after you pay one hourly charge you end up still oweing them
there are a lot of upfront honest fleet owners
and just a few that keep ripping off drivers
we worked for one who was very up front that a lot of people cuss him but we new up front what his end was and what our end was
never heard i have to make the truck payment so i can't pay you or iv'e got trucks down so i can't pay you
or i have been stuck with a bunch of lazy drivers and can't pay you and sometimes i wish i was still with him
but the company he was leased on to i couldn't get along with thier night shift
i have talked with a lot of fleet owners and there are some that just need to be takened out behind the barn and shot
we bust our backsides out here and i know we are not the only ones who do
but something needs to be done about the few bad fleet owners in the expiditing industry

I don't know for sure if this would work but I think it might.
Why not use the Better Business Bureau to complain about how a fleet owner is treating you? Even though the fleet owner is leased to the carrier they are still an independent business. By notifying the BBB using their proper channels they could become a clearing house for your complaints, as well as other people you run across that have worked for the same fleet owners. If it was suggested in a post on this site to include the BBB when researching a carrier or owner, the information you are trying to share would be there. In addition, the BBB will send the perpetrator a letter asking them to explain the problem or resolve it within 30 days. If it isn't resolved they give them a rating of "unsatisfactory". I have dealt with them for years and have gotten positive results in doing so. Just a thought.

If you are really looking to fix the owners wagon just file for unemployment, that makes him have to get a lawyer to fight you and all you have to do is just sit back and say but he fired me. I know it seems like a dirty thing to do but he will then be the one having to defend himself in court. And by the way I am a owner myself just do like to see people get screwed over.
