I'm plannin' on stoppin' by.

I've been rollin' on I-80 outa NJ area - load originated in CT... goin' to Omaha, Nebraska.
I've been hollerin' on the CB at the Expediters I saw rollin' in the Great Lakes area hopin' to run into somebody... I spoke with HondaKing as he was rollin' westbound in his Sprinter. That was cool.

I'll be stoppin' by the booth, plannin' on stayin' 2 days "On" the show grounds with the rig. I've got to deliver Tues. PM in Omaha, and I'll be about 700 miles away from the Ky show then. I'm plannin' on gettin' by a Beacon to get the rig shined up before I park it.

Gotta get by a J that sells the Ethernet cables for the laptop so I can get a landline connection - that way I can download the needed firmware for the wireless card I have - that way I can annoy people from all over, not just the Flying J's.

Apparently when the J here in Davenport runs outa somethin' they like to just walk over to the shelf and give you their best immpression of a village idiot by tellin' you "we're out of it"...
Say it ain't so?! I could have told you that! Grrrrrrr

Anyways, lookin' forward to seein' you all there at the show.

Feel it's appropriate to mention here...
What ever happened to the idea of a cook-out?
Anybody interested?
I can pick up some nice roadkill for the grill in 700 miles.

fxd hd8,

We'll be in a Louisville-area hotel Saturday night, resting up before we go back into service on Sunday morning. It's not likely we'll get dispatched out of Louisville on Sunday. What tourist fun or area attractions can you recommend?

I quess it depends on what you are into. There is some kind of museum in or around downtown Louisville. Not sure about being open on a Sunday. Mammouth cave is another one, but only has a value during the day. The other option is to go a few hours and do the riverfront at Cincy. You can park at the TA on 75 in Florence and take a 15 minute cab ride in. Most places are open on Sunday.

Mammoth cave is the bomb. Newport on the Levee in NKY is worth the trip too.

There is a Bass Pro Shop just across the river in Indiana. That's my plan for Friday night. Saturday, if you drive up to Kentucky Speedway and spend 40 bucks on tickets or souvenirs you get 3 laps around the track. I doubt they are gonna let a truck out there, but if you are in a car that may be an idea. I plan to run up and buy my Busch series tickets for this year on Saturday morning, wonder how fast the wife's taurus will go?}>

Rich - you are sooo funny! And I'm looking forward to meeting you and Kathy too, & everyone else - but I'm really wishing I hadn't read that comment just now, because I couldn't help laughing out loud. While that's usually one of my favorite things to do, I am currently holed up in a motel in Richmond, Va, with acute bronchitis - and a cracked rib, owww. (BTW - I found a doc-in-a-box today, the same way I find cool places to go in any town: pop in any motel lobby, check out the brochure rack. Though I had to ask the desk clerk for the Urgicare info, she handed me preprinted directions! Desk clerks are a valuable resource for local info)
I'm hoping to be there Friday, though Saturday might be more realistic, given the fact that I can't stay awake longer than 2 hrs in a row just now :+ But as soon as the drugs kick in, I'll be (yep, you guessed it) on my way!:p

Cheri,
I hope you get well soon. I'm been sick myself lately. Whatever this latest round of flu or crud is it makes its victims weak and usually leaves the bronchitis behind. I'm not sure I will make it to the show either. Aside from the illness going to trade show always makes me want to spend money and that's bad for me right now.

I was really looking forward to driving you nuts this week. But I volunteered to stay back and take care of the office. I have a little trouble being on my feet that long, and it also gave the first timers a chance to see what really goes on at the truck show.

Say a big hi to all the crew and wish you all a great time.

Hey Gang, Cheri was askin' about me... I sent her a msg.

I got caught up in Iowa and Nebraska in all that snow and ice this past week. I'll be coming into Louisville tonite (Thurs into Fri.)

I gotta drop in Bowling Green area about 2 hours south...
Then my game plan is to hit a Beacon for a trk wash, but only one I found that I know takes ComData is down at MM 86, then I gotta run up to 133 MM for the show -
hope I can hunt one down closer to show area.

Saw a 3 axle tow truck slippin' sideways on ice as he pulled my rig off of ice... Yes, it was rough. Then when I got under my pre-loaded trailer I got religion as I pulled out... as I was sliddin' sideways with trailer still goin' straight... right towards a tall grain elevator... finally managed to get traction to tractor and gassed on it right thru snow piles about as tall as the hood... I think wrecker driver laughed for 5 min.
On way to Nebraska I think I slid across 1/2 of Iowa on I-80.
it was so nice to get into MO after IA and NE and have traction.

Then after all that at that shipper I had to scale load... at a trck stop that had ice on some parts of it's lot... and naturally they were the parts I got to drive on.

Well, I gotta run, I've burned enough daylight today... shipper thought I could pull 84K legally. told them 80K is max.
They had to unload whole trailer to figure it out...
Even though I told them the simple solution of taking about 6K off the back. Must have been related to the guy at the Wendy's in Oak Grove, MO. I asked him where the trip pak box is located, and he said "oh you'll have to ask that girl over there, she works here".
Felt like askin' him if it was "take a friend to work" day...
Have I mentioned how much I love my log book artwork?

See ya'll at the show!

MotorMouth's got to "Truck it up"!
