Information comes from (edited) which shows the average cost per mile at 2.61 to the truck owner. It shows an average of .60870 cents per mile going to wages, be it the owner or the driver.
Do you think shippers and brokers would understand why 0/0 need more than the $1.00 - $1.32 floating around in expediting?

% of Total Cost Per Mile

Fuel 35.77% $0.93369

Wages 23.32% $0.60870

Equipment 24.51% $0.63973

Capital Depreciation 2.96% $0.07714

Financing 1.79% $0.04668

Administration 4.55% $0.11873

Compliance 3.16% $0.08255

Insurance 3.94% $0.10286

93 cents for fuel??

At $3.50 a gallon that would equate to 3.77 mpg. The oldest, squarest cabover going 75 MPH would do better than that.

I would take this more serious if;

....they sourced their information, just because they give aggregates of indices's does not mean much.

....they don't have google ads/yahoo news on more than 45% of there page. Three ad panels? come on.....

....they have more details that justify the percentages.

I probably have the oldest squarest cabover in the expedite business and just did a turn to Ca and back. Average for the RT was .338 per mile. Which is about 19% of gross. Not sure where the above figgures are comming from at 90 cent per mile. Musta been someone that idles too much, drives way too far to a truckstop to sleep, or a load. Or, sumpin

Don't click on that link. It's obviously a spam site.

When I exited it it froze up Internet Explorer, I assume the site was trying to do some "bad things" to my 'puter.

Interesting....

I think that the author of the thread should have told us this before. If there is something found other than a cookie, tell us what it is.

I haven't seen the problem but again.... I had problems with AT&T and it only took 7 hours and God knows how many attempts to download the updated firmware for my aircard. Right now I am not using the card because I paid for FJ connection and going to get my money's worth.

Virus? not at all it is AT&T. I'll scan this computer again with trend micro.

Well, if you buy a 100k truck and run it 500k, and figgure a 25k residual thats fifteen cent. Oil changes'll be $180 devided by 15K. Bout a cent. Fuel'll be bout $3.43 devided by yer mileage, bout 34 cent. Insurance, an whatever else you want to tack on.

I got 15+ 1+ 34 = fitty cent so far. Plug your own numbers in.
