Ken, was it about 15 percent lower than what the broker quoted? if so, thats panther not the broker...it comes down on the load offer with panthers part already taken out.....if that is not the case, contact the broker and tell them they need to resend the rate confirmation sheet with the original quoted price, still no luck?! contact panther and tell them to take you off the pro... nothing will be held against you, the brokered load is all you and the broker...panther will not get in the middle of it so therefore will not hold it against you.
If you have already picked up load and not delivered, its still not too late to call the broker. I have had it happen many times and never had a problem with the broker changing the rate sheet if it was an honest mistake.
Please keep us updated, so if nothing does get worked out and it truely does go bad for you, I will need to add this person to my " do not use list"

Always make sure you communicate your quote to your carrier. Sometimes these things just happen by miscommunication. I know you probably don't want to hear that now, because it may not look like it to you. This is just one of the things that you have to look forward to if you choose to run your own authority. Also, make sure that the error isn't with your carrier and not the broker before you start hollering at folks.

Now here's something I do now with customers I don't know, or have little relationship. Since they won't be able to qualcomm the info to you, have them send a fax of the job alert, with the agreed quote and a signature on it. I use MyFax. Runs about 10 bucks a month. It's a wonderful email based faxing tool that allows you to send and receive faxes as an Adobe PDF document right in your email account. Dishonest people are more likely to fess up when confronted with a signed document.

I slightly edited this post to clean up the language. This is an example of a questionable post where you would be better served by stating that facts as you experienced them and let the reader draw a conclusion based on fact, not emotion.

What i'd draw from this post is... simply a lack of follow up on ken's part. Should maybe be typing to/about himself. Nuther case of that perfect world syndrome. If you are going to work your own freight, stay in the loop, and don't pass ANY details to others. Pay attention, then you won't have to say to yourself shoulda, coulda, woulda.

As in any business transaction, you have to make sure all the i's are dotted and the t's crossed. There are some bad brokers out there. The more you do these types of loads the better one becomes at identifying who the good and the bad are. Alot of sites have rating systems as well to help in the decision making process.

Lack of follow up right if i haden't kept up with the info i would have been ripped off. Fact the worthless broker gave me a quote which he changed after giving it to me. Had i not stayed on top of it i would havent known until after i dropped the load. I know full well what Panther's cut is. He dropped the rate. As for "bad language" i didnt use any foul words period so i think you need to grow up i didnt know this board was set up for your sensitive nature

Whoa there Nelly.......this board was not set up for people to do or say whatever they wanted.....and that was a moderator whose job it is to *gasp* moderate. I think I hear the hole you crawled out of calling you back.

They can pretty much tell you anything. The rate quote that is sent to Panther is what you would haul it for. Doesn't matter if they changed their mind, that is the contract. A call to Panther to confirm rate and pickup should suffice.

Heart burn i was trying to warn people about a bad broker. It matters not to me the amount he changed the price to just that he lied and if you lie once you will lie again and again. Dave i am glad that Gayle called me to let me know he changed the rate so she stopped booking the load until hearing from me. I respect that, she did her job and protected me before it became a bigger issue. Charlotte your cheap personal attack is worthless you and i have issues and i will keep them to myself so save your attacks for someone who cares

Considering I think I just now figured out who you are....it was not a personal attack, it is a comment about someone that says what you did to someone else who is doing their job..after all I seem to remember someone got a little touchy when someone questioned the job THEY were doing right? I have absolutly nothing to hide here...going after a moderator is the same as going after a dispatcher...2 people doing the job they are supposed to do and someone taking a cheap shot at them because they do not like the results. You do not care for my opinion of some of the members of the drivers council, I do not care for you representing me...we are even.

Crawl into my hole isnt a personal attack??? lol by the way i dont represent you. You are a straight truck owner as far as i know and you do teams if i remember correctly i dont represent either. So you may want to get your facts straight. Also i was pointing out i didnt use ANY foul language period since the mod made that claim i figure i have the right to point that out. oh and you can call in another complaint if you want i dont care have a nice day

was not necessary....when the only particiaption I see is you attacking a decent man. I will defend him, especially when he is doing a thankless job of moderating bad tempers.

For the record, It's inappropriate for some on here to refer to another as an S.O.B. If anyone were to do that it would be deleted by me or another moderator.

In that sucbadriver had posted a statement concerning facts as he saw it, I just removed part of his post rather than all of it. I also posted that fact here by saying "I slightly edited this post to clean up the language."

Sucbadiver confirmed my point that SOB was inappropriate reference to another person by refering to the phrase SOB as a "foul word" and "Foul language"

This thread has outlived it's intended purpose so I'll exercise another of my moderator capabilities and lock it for posterity.
