I just wonder what causes it? Seems like it's a mod issue here? Don't some of the mods have problems with it too?

No, just me I think. We went around on this subject a couple of times. Nothing suggested worked. It does it on one other site but no others. I have NO idea as to the cause.

ive hit deer with deer whistles, and have also just had them look up as if they heard a whistle when I didnt have any. What deer whistles are,are living proof a truck driver will buy anything

You know, Steve, if you'd just hit them with the whistles, instead of the truck, you'd save a lot of money....:p
I've always wondered about those signs in Indiana, warning of "animals ahead when flashing" - has that ever helped anyone avoid hitting an animal in the road?

Yep. Me, for one. Not in Indiana but in Montana. Hwy 191 where it skirts into and out of Yellowstone. Lights were flashing, I slowed way down, and lo and behold there were two elk in the road up ahead. One time in Iowa the lights were flashing but I never say anything. Must have broken the beam and kept on running. They have those animal detection systems in about 15 states now. They're still experimental.

Those signs scare the dukey out of me. Always have. I think I've seen one deer when the lights have been flashing, rest have been false alarms.

Indiana has ceased using that system.

#@%#!, I hate deer. And moose. And elk. We need to kick scientists in the shorts and tell them to get flying cars on the market. When all vehicles fly 8 feet off the ground, all animal strikes and pedestrian accidents will be a thing of the past.
