My avatar is barely visible. Too dark. Anyone know a way someone who's never done anything with graphics can lighten it and maybe sharpen it? I know of photoshop, of course, but the tutorials I've read sound seriously complicated. I've searched for a built-in program in Windows but haven't found anything.

Found a way to brighten it, but it's still pretty fuzzy. So still looking for a way to sharpen it.

Do you have the original picture? Was it originally larger? If you have the MS picture viewer, there are basic editing tools in there... but your picture is so little, it seems like not a lot to work with (at least on a basic level)? If you have the original and it's larger, you could try cropping more of the background out, and making the subject a little larger? Or try cutting off some of the length to allow the width to be larger and still fit within the parameters allowed.

Well, I dunno. I don't know anything about photoshop, and the built-in photo editing app in Windoze no longer has a sharpening function. If there's a way to do it, I don't know about it. I just don't know anything about photo editing. I stumbled on the way to lighten in pretty much by accident.

I sharpened this a little. As stated if you have a larger original then you will have more detail in your avatar.
