So E1 wakes me up with a load from Cincy to NYC 163$ for tolls. I get to the driver's seat and they call me back and cancel the load. But it was ready now. So going on day 3 with no load. This sucks.

It's been extremely slow here on my end, spent a week at a friends house and just took a load that pays all my fuel home. It's a full rate load, but all the profit from the load will pay for my deadhead home after I drop it tomorrow. I'm not gonna rot in parking lots if I can go home and see my cat while wating for a load back east.
On another note, I saw a baby kitten cross all 4 lanes of the highway Yesterday and I pulled over and heard it crying. I sawit there in some brush and right before I could grab it, it went into somedense grass and bush and stopped crying. I tried to get it for 15 minutes, but had to give up. I called the local anamal control and they said that there is nothing they could do for it, so I had to keep on moving to my pick up. I feel so bad about it kind of like I let it down. All I can hope for is that it somehow found it's mother inthose bushes and that is why it stopped crying. I was reading and apparently kittens born in the wild have a lot of factors stacked against their survival. :-(
