I actually think that we are losing trucks. I think all of the running freight for cheap prices is catching up with a lot of carriers and O/O's. I think a lot of people are being forced out of the market. Just my two cents.

I think your right about loosing trucks. The last couple of years there has been an influx of out of work people who could get their hands on a C/V and make a living. The problem was they did not research how much it would take to get going and maintain a life style. I think were getting rid of a lot of that because of the bad year expediting is having. Most of these people think "Oh how hard can it be to run a C/Van with a pallet of freight?" More to it than what it looks like. I think the capacity issue will straighten itself out soon.

I consider myself to be a great chess player. But you aren't going to get rich doing this job.

The great thing about chess is that the rules never change. The board has a limited number of squares. White opposes black. A pawn is a pawn. A king can only move one square at a time. Each player moves in turn.

In trucking, the rules are in a continual state of flux, which itself becomes part of the game, and numerous players of various skill levels can move whenever they wish.

Well lets just say that I know how to continually reinvent myself!
