This is what the "left" has been after for years. Of course, associates like Wright and Ayres mean nothing. Neither does character OR experince. The ONLY thing that is important is saying a few "feel good lies". Sooooo many fools will fall for it. Every time the US goes to war it usually does this! So what's different now? The amount? Well consider you just had 8 years of war and now you're in another war against a recession and it's going to take years to get out of debt (govt debt). Every time over the last 2 centuries the govt debt for a war or recession has grown ever larger as the govt spends more and more. You all know what's coming, years of increased taxation on all kinds of things. Welcome to the SOCIALIST world USA.

It is not as simple as you are making it out to be. Other countries are setup differently to handle the debt load as we are not. The real issues isn't the debt itself, the formation of debt payments is based on expansion and recently the idea that a "green" economy will work. The real issue is the interest of the debt over the the 30 years we have it. Paying that back is the real problem because we are paying over a trillion a year in interest and they will increase as we go along borrowing more money to pay for things.
This is not socialism by any means, all of this is actually fascism and our economy is looking like it is being based on the economy of Nazi Germany and we are actually following their deficit spending for their recovery between '34 and '39.
In fact the war has little to do with the increasing debt, it is our flawed social programs. As one person said a while ago we are the only country in the world that allows our rich to be covered under a government medical program. If we take Medicare, Social Security and other runaway social programs and seriously reform them, our deficit will drop significantly.
