Atheists angry over 9/11 Memorial street with "Heaven" in it...

I can't believe the way they complain about things like this, if you are an atheist then saying Heaven or under God will have no greater impact than saying Santa Clause or Easter Bunny.

They complain because that street is right down the street from they're headquarters at the corner of NBC & CNN.

I agree. I've always felt Atheism IS a religion... they try harder than many Christians to spread their message! If Heaven doesn't exist, why do you care if there's a sign about it.

The Atheists make a good argument, at least to a point, but they are way late in the game to make it. Besides, no one even asked if those Seven were Christians. What if they were? That's the point where the Atheist's argument falls apart.

Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz failed utterly to defend it with, "...believe me are in heaven for serving us so admirably." That's saying "Heaven exists because I sayso." FAIL.

The Atheists screwed up when they said "It's preachy", which it clearly is not, and in no way could be considered preachy to anyone of sound mind. But they really screwed the pooch when they said, "We’ve concluded as atheists there is no heaven and there’s no hell.” Which is just another "...because I sayso." FAIL

Saying there is no heaven, and saying with any certainty of fact, is awfully, awfully arrogant. But then again so is the reverse. ;)

I do believe that The State, just like the rest of us, should have freedom of speech. They should be able to name the street anything they want. It's a proper noun, not a suggestion, same as St Marks Place and St Johns Place, both of which are in Brooklyn, as well.

Awwwwww, the poor poor dears. Well, all I can say to the atheists is tough feces and tough stuff and shut up.

Wonder if they'll protest Hell, Michigan?

What I've always wondered... people who don't believe in God... why do they then invoke His name while cursing??? :)

I mean, they call on a God they don't believe exists to send someone to a place... they don't believe exists...

I don't get it!

Just sayin LOL.

Kinda reminds me of what the Soviets did when they took over Russia. Renaming cites that were named after saints. If they don't believe in it, why are they so afraid of the names? It's paint on a sign. After a few weeks no one even notices them unless they are looking for an address.
