Arkansas Fuel Tax HIKE

Arkansas truckers are trying to get everyone to not buy fuel in AR. They are complaining of a proposed fuel tax.
I checked with the Ar gazette online and sure enough a bill has passed the Ar senate and is up for vote. A Five cent diesel fuel tax. Half percent or something cheap for gasoline, nothing for farm vehicles. Just whack the drive through commercial drivers. It's not a safe place to park anyways in West Menphis so wave on by.

How else are they going to pay for the new "Monica Room" at the Clinton Library, brothel and 24 hour diner? :p

Keep your eye on S.Carolina as well. They have one if not the cheapest fuel tax in the nation (state), but they are debating an increase as we speak.

The Arkansas trucking association (the name escapes me) not only approves of the hike, they proposed it.

According to my accountant, Arkansas has the 6th highest state income tax! The stupid hospitality (hamburger) tax is ridiculous, also. We pay about 11% when we eat out. Then again Arkansas is in a fairly good financial situation.

I guess if ya can afford to eat out ya can afford the tax...would be the thinking behind it...a luxury tax per say...
