Nitro, wv stupid drain plug popped out the radiator. Causing us a tow, hotel loss of load. All because freightliner is closed till monday...
Sad 1st time in 11 years we have been towed. 2nd time ever we have load a load due to breakdown... kinda ticks me off... especially when were low on funds lol. Just stressing...
Hate seeing that happen. Is it a Freightliner part or something an International or other dealer might have?
Was it the radiator plug?
Yea it is just cant get the part... gonna be a $1,000 drain plug i think lol
Strange thing to break. What state are you in?
Its the drain plug on the radiator. Only freightliner carries it. Im just so ****ed cuz its not something that should break and no way to tell if its about to. Tryin to get a hotel room now after all is said and done we are looking at at least a grand over this... worst time to be broke. Will Load 1 front the hotel room? Dunno if we can cover it and food for the weekend.
We are in Nitro, WV
At Methany? Hopefully they have the part. There is a large Freightliner dealer here in Columbus. If they have it, I can bring it down if that'll help.
Cherokee: for future reference, a Corporate Lodging card is a lifesaver in an emergency, especially if you don't want to pay for the room right away. [The hotel bills Corp Lodging, who will then deduct it from your bank acct a few days later - gives you a chance to make sure the money is there.]
It's a great program, with discounts on rooms everywhere, a website for finding a room [can filter for truck parking, pets, pool, etc], and a couple perks I really like: every stay is 24 hrs - check in at 7 pm, that's your check out time. And if you need to call the people at CLC, [like when a desk clerk says you don't get to stay for 24 hrs] the number is on the card, and you will talk to a person, not a list of menu options.
O - and you never pay for the program unless you use it, with a $5.00 fee added to the room charge - sweet deal, IMO.
I like it for the occasional 'cable tv & indoor plumbing break' when out for an extended time, but it's wonderful in an emergency too.
yes, replace the u joint. !!!!
I agree. I would replace the u joint as well. Another morning.....another airplane.
