SLC is not exactly the San Fran area....last time I looked...:p
After doing doing 2 loads out there, had to start making my way back towards the house. Told dispatch I was heading to SLC for a day or so and bam not more than 30 minutes after I arrived, I had a load out of Ogden going to Oakville. The key here is communicating with your dispatchers. I have always been proactive with my dispatchers and it has paid off in the long run.

Sorry to hear they fell thru. I know you expect to d/head home most of the time but it sounds like they may have tried unless it was just a feel good measure on their part. :D
If it makes ya feel any better another guy just finished a 200+ mile deadhead back due to lack of freight.. Just got off the phone with him and he was spitting mad, no reason, where he was sitting that they couldn't bag a load. Especially for a tandem truck. Now they put him in the dog house because he doesn't have the hours to do one now that he is at home..( his story) but believable because we know the one way freight has become a reality. Someone needs to shake something up and make these ppl look beyond their quitting time.
