Saw one of the electric highway signs in Iowa today that said...

Running low on blinker fluid?

Got a good laugh on that one.

Unloaded 2 hrs early in St Paul... refinery, clean shaven a requirement to get inside property luckily warehouse was outside fence, went over to shipper and that 1 skid was ready 2 hrs early.,., shower, shaved and down in Albert Lea Mn for the night...
what would happen if you have a beard like i do? was this stated on the front end? i would not shave mine off for a delivery. i once had a delivery to a campus DC that searched the van before letting us on the property; they said my dog could not enter. i took my wife and dog down the road to a park while i unloaded. not sure what i would have told them if it was not a pretty and warm day.

They will usually send a fork truck or whatever to front gate...or if its light enough leave at guards shack...or they could just refuse you...and your carrier would have to find a solution....
Thing is carriers and brokers should know....refineries and the rules...facial hair could be a problem
FOOD products...nearly all if not most have a NO PET rule....its the FDA rule...they don't want cats or dogs climbing around the product
ALSO onboard generators/gas could present a problem as well with food grade products...any machinery or packaging material
Kelloggs at times will hand you a broom at the gate and sweep your floor...:)

Waiting to load, Milwaukee to Alanta. Deliver direct around 0230, maby traffic won't be a pisser.
Must be nice to drive as a team. You can drive direct. Charge more for overnight drive.
If I get loaded today, I might see you in Hotlanta.
another perk lost due to "competition" the 15-25% team surcharge...thus again reducing the income..BIG carriers really sold us down the river...

I always thought teams were at disadvantage pay-wise. Only perk is you can run non-stop. But even that is taken out of equation by not enough good loads.

they are now...the only good reason is the one you stated..but then we are giving the broker/carrier a Value added service for FREE..like more drivers dropping their hazmat endorsement...you invest in something you expect a return for again another "Value added service"
