i have been a truck driver for 20 years and would like to go into expediting. have dot card and cld a will put haz back on if needed.

should i fill out the applications on line or go down to the company myslef and fill out applications in person. i live in the detroit area. i want to buy a 24 foot box truck but i don't want to spend the money until i know i can get a job.

Ted,
If you know your mvr is clean, have a current dot physical and are in the process of getting your haz put back on your cdl, I would fill out the apps online and wait for responses. As long as you are able to get a vehicle that qualifies, you should not have a problem getting acceptance from the motor carrier.

You might also want to speak with the recruiters to help you get started.

You should have no problem being qualified with your verifiable experience.
As ABC said, check with the carriers first, perhaps by applying online, or by meeting with a recruiter from prospective companies.
Premium Transportation Logistics would be interested in a D unit from the Detroit area.
