I think I've seen The Right Stuff at least 15 times.
One of my 5 all-time favorite movies. The movie is remarkably faithful to the book, but I still recommend reading the book.

Carrying the Fire (been a while since I've read either), where a funny story was related from flight testing, and illustrates why it is so important. About to test a new jet, and they had a 12-step procedure on how to eject from the cockpit. In order to ensure the pilot could see the card with the 12 steps on it, they stuck the card above the pilot on the inside of the canopy so that all he had to do was glance up and read the card.
