After reading about what all you people are going thru with these crossings no one has even mentioned your dispatch!

Does not your dispatch do anything?

Our company, we fax the paperwork to them and THEY fax it to the right broker and confirm reception and then check what time we can cross and get release numbers and all. We do not approach the crossing till dispatch gives us the green light.
If theres a problem that I didn't see on the original paperwork they can get them fixed while on route.....This is why we pay them!
I've seen so many drivers literally stranded by there dispatch, I find this completely unprofessional and reflects badly on any company that does not back up thier drivers.

I'd rather not get an unnecessary person involved - just one more delay in communication . I fax the paperwork to the broker from the shipper and my cell number is on the fax cover sheet . I call the broker to confirm the fax is received and the PARS has cleared . There is no way I'd want a dispatcher in the process .

This is a seventeen-month old thread that someone unnecessarily replied to, that brought out-dated and obsolete discussions into the present, that deals with coming into the US from Canada,

No PARS needed. The ACE Electronic Manifest makes all this talk of brokers, PARS and having to sit and wait days (days? really? on an ACE clearance? Really?) at the border for the paperwork to clear, pointless.

With all due respect Turtle, we at the Fed are still using our paps along with the Ace manifest AND the inbound cargo manifest....the Fed does the faxing after we fax to them but they are still requiring all of the paperwork named above.

With all due respect, go back and re-read what I wrote. I never said that PAPS, Inbound Manifest, Customs Invoice or any other ACE Electronic Manifest paperwork was no longer required. It is, but you don't use PARS for loads coming into the US from Canada, nor do you fax directly to a broker, which makes all this talk about PARS and brokers pointless.

This is the kind of crap that happens when people respond to old, outdated posts, thereby bumping them up to appear as if they were new threads.

I was going on this comment and didn't want to outright say that Pars are not used for coming into the US. While we're on this subject then would you please tell us what you mean by "no Pars needed"?? We're still using those too, going into Canada, of course.

When did Canada discontinue PARS? You did say it...Me thinks you meant PAPS??? Yes ...No?

GGGRRR.... OMG <drops head, places hands on either side of head, pulls hair out of head>

"I was going on this comment and didn't want to outright say that Pars are not used for coming into the US."

Good, that would have been redundant, because that's precisely what I said. Read it, it says this is a 17 month old thread that deals with coming into the US from Canada.

Therefore, no PARS [are] needed [when you bring a load into the US from Canada].

Sheesh. The thread was started, and DIED, 17 months ago when ACE was new and not yet fully implemented. Then, someone, for reasons only they alone can fathom, responded to this thread, and in Jesus-like fashion it rose from the grave to be heavily commented on out of context, and is thoroughly outdated at this time. People jumped in about faxing to the broker, which is irrelevant when talking about loads coming into the US from Canada, which is what this thread deals with. People started talking about PARS, which is equally irrelevant about loads coming into the US from Canada, which is what this thread deals with.

Yes, yes, yes, when you take a load FROM the US into CANADA, you do, yes, yes, yes, have to use PARS stickers and fax stuff to the broker. But this thread isn't about that. It never was, so when people bring it up in this thread, because they didn't bother to read and comprehend what was being discussed, it just confuses things, especially in a 17 month old, outdated thread like this one.

Responding to old, outdated posts to resurrect it is stoopid. It wastes time, and just confuses people. It you want to state something relevant to today, start a new thread rather than lumping onto the tail end of thread that has been rendered irrelevant by time.

No need to be rude.

Therefore, no PARS [are] needed [when you bring a load into the US from Canada]. That is exactly the point I was trying to make..... PARS STICKERS NEVER WERE NEEDED TO COME BACK INTO THE US FROM CANADA.....THAT STICKER IS CALLED PAPS!

SHEESH!!:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Instead of seeing the inherent comedy in the above, you choose to see rudeness. That's pretty telling, ya know?

And it's exactly the point that I stated. Thanks for making the point again, though, I guess. <shrug>

PARS STICKERS NEVER WERE NEEDED TO COME BACK INTO THE US FROM CANADA.....THAT STICKER IS CALLED PAPS!

Really? Wow, I never knew that.

Sheesh is right. Next time I'll do as OVM suggests and type it out in big letters, and instead of allowing the reader to make the connections, I'll connect the dots for ya.

Forgive me for typing within the context of the thread. If you look at my original reply, it was dead on.

Yeah, we're coo, tho. :)

She certainly didn't consult me before doing it. :D

back on topic....i was not turned away. i was in canada and returning to the "friendly confines" of the usa. the paps sticker and ppwk were not received and i had to go to the broker bldg. then stand in line for customs. then blithely waved thru. bye-bye-don't-let-the-border-hit-you-in-the- bumper. that was 3 hours i will never get back. ALWAYS CALL AND MAKE SURE THE PPWK IS CLEARED.
