Anyone else heard about Starbucks?

This was forwarded to us from a friend.......

Recently Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to let them know how much they liked their coffees and to request that they send some of it to the troops there.
Starbucks replied, telling the Marines thank you for their support of their business, but that Starbucks does not support the war, nor anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops their brand of coffee.

So as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should not support them by buying any of their products! I feel we should get this out in the open.
I know this war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't mean we don't support the boys on the ground fighting street -to-street and house-to-house.

If you feel the same as I do then pass this along, or you can
discard it and no one will never know.

Description:

This hoax was written by a US Army sergeant, who relayed a story about how Starbucks would not send free coffee grounds to US troops in Iraq supposedly because Starbucks does not support the war.

The sergeant who wrote this email has since released another email saying that the story he heard was false, and that he wrote the first email under the impression that Starbucks did not support US troops, a claim that he now knows to be untrue.

Starbucks has also produced a statement declaring their support for US trops in Iraq, and that their employees regularly send coffe to family members in Iraq and other places overseas.

I had to wonder about this as while our daughter was a Al Asad in Iraq she once a week had Starbucks coffee. I believe it was on fathers day while she was there they all had a free to them an Outback steak meal.

Never tried Obsidian, but I looked it up and it sounds like my speed. Normally at home, I'm down with the Eight O'Clock French Roast (Whole Bean). The best bag of coffee under five bucks I think I've ever had.

On occasion I will splurge and buy some Illy coffee at William - Sonoma.

Several years ago we bought my brother-in-law Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee for Christmas. Delicious coffee, but at $40 a pound way over priced.

Now that I am rich I may buy some for myself. Heck, I just might buy Jamaica! What you think mon?

Carabou isn't bad

But I'm a coffee snob.

Like my beer I like it brewed or for coffee roasted in small batches. Must be fresh!

SB's is burnt acidic swill! I also make sure my coffee is fair trade. Which means the growers are paid a good wage for their beans so they insure they are not using third world sewer water to irrigate the crops and all kinds of pesticides and herbicides like SB's and all the other larger growers allow.

When HoaxBusters is down, Snopes.com is a good 'other choice'. Timmie's Rules but in a pinch anything dark,and robust works well. And while free trade coffee is the preferred way to go so that everyone wins. Quite honestly the only real coffee is the kind you roast yourself. For more coffee trivia, coffeefool.com.
