Is it worth the $$$. I'm having a little trouble smoothing out the shifting on my 10 speed. Also have read where it can help with fuel mileage ??

For 900 bucks you could put little sticky numbers for the gears on the speedo and have 899 dollars left over.

I have a transmission that has no syncros, so I have to be consistent. If I miss a shift, well I have a fun time getting things straight. I think that everyone should start on a trans like mine, it really is a good learning tool.

How tough do you think these trans are ??? A driveline replacement would be ugly. I will not be the only driver on this truck. I plan to put a driver in it once I have learned enough 1st hand..... and practice, practice, practice, scares me. So I am considering this unit as an investment. I know of a driver that has one and he swears by it. My shock was the cost !!! He told me it ran about $500.00.

Yea they are expensive, $950 or something like that.

It really is simple unit and uses the engine computer to do the calculations, takes the RPMs and road speed comparing them to tell you when to shift. I think that it may use a lookup table for each transmission.

Watch your tach and the terrain and use your left foot! TWICE!!

Call Gearmaster @ 1-866-432-7728 before May 1st and you can get a discounted price of $482.00 + S/H. If you tell them I (Steven Tuck) recommended the unit, I get a rebate check too. They did say the price would go up in May but would still be less than the $900.00 + they advertise on their website. I cannot personally recommend it yet as I won't receive mine until tommorrow but it came highly recommended by a friend who used it to help his wife learn. She went to a driving school and still struggled until he got the Gearmaster.

Oh I see, well the website says $945 reduced from what ever. Still $450 is a lot of money that can used for other things.

DD, actually I like it most of the time, but there are times where I say "I could of had an autoshift".
