Anybody finding van freight on their own ??

Just asking to see if its doable. I know a guy (retired) that runs a courier service and runs freight up and down the east coast but the longer/better paying loads are pretty scarce.

yes all the van freight is beeing ship on st trucks unless your with a comp that llooks out for van frght

I've recently started to look for freight on my own and have found some around but back hauls seem almost non-existent unless you know the shippers in the area. Many small loads are going on s/t rather than vans. Several loads I've seen are not going too far and the pay per mile is good so it sort of offsets the deadhead mileage back to a freight area. So there seems to be a bit more hotshot type work coming available
