Any truth to these rumors?

I often hear rumors about the Government buying trucks for forgien nationals. I have tried to check it out but have had little luck. Many in here are much better at that kind of stuff than I am.

The rumors go sorta like, "the government is buying trucks for people of middle eastern or Russian or insert what you like decent to thank them for this or that service"

I kinda doubt this but would love to find out for sure if this is just the BS I think it is or if there any truth to them.

It would go back much further, I hear them off and on now for about two years. I assume it's BS but I don't know how to check it out. I email Snopes but never heard anything back.

Well cali had a plan to pay for mexicans to upgrade their trucks that operate in cali because they would be pushed out of the market because of the carb rules. but now that cali is bankrupt i dont see it happening.

I couldn't find anything like what you are talking about, but I did find this that has to do with pickup trucks..

In order to help unload the massive inventory of pickup trucks, the government is offering a voucher under the "cash-for-clunkers" program to encourage owners to swap their trucks for more efficient models.

Speaking of Snopes.. I went there and searched for Truck and a bunch of listings came up, some of which were OMG. (Especially the one about the motorcycle crashing into the back of a truck, and the one about the carjacker. Caution.. graphic pictures.).
