Sorry guys, no suggestions here. To us both places stink as far as getting freight out, never had any luck in Denver or Wichita! Did you try Back Haul to see if they have anything heading East? I know the pay sucks but even if you can get something that delivers near St Paul, MN, we have always had luck there.
Sorry we couldn't have been more helpful!

I agree. They sometimes count on ignorance to get you to go to the boonies. I don't know about Denver, as far as Panther goes. Witchita seems just as far as Lincoln, NE for dh, and you'd be closer to the zone. Otherwise, you could head to Portland and start praying. Good luck!

Portland is no good either, we were just there last week and had to DH back to LA!

From memory - last week:

2 loads out of WA
2 loads out of ID
2+ loads out of MT
3 loads out of OR
2 loads out of UT
0 loads out of WY
2 loads out of NV
2 loads out of CO
10+ loads out of CA

Can't remember what cities they all came out of, or where they all were going, but at this point it might not matter. Pretty sure these were all straight truck loads.

Maybe ther'll be none this coming week - who knows?

Take your pick and best of luck!

For NLM, those numbers look about right. Most of the CA if not all were from LA to San Diego with one close to the AZ/CA border.
If you go to some of the western areas, it is advisible to know how to obtain your own frieght. If not, you either DH back or spend considerable time waiting.

Hi Dave!

Actually, none of the loads I mentioned were NLM loads - as they never, with very, very few exceptions, ship out of the north west as far as I know.

The loads I am speaking of were either offers or phoned in. Most were runs past the Mississippi, some went to Los Angeles, all would have been considered at least a nice run.

GPS411 occasionally offers freight out of that area - but that's as rare as a properly cooked filet mignon from Denny's.

IMHO, if they offer a load out to the NW, the best bet is to refuse it unless they considerably sweeten the deal to include a whole lot of dead head.

OTOH, if you are in sight seeing mode, go ahead and take the load and enjoy the scenery - but you'll probably do it at your own expense.

Just my .02

You are correct. There is some expedite out there, but it isn't consistent. We usually will pick up two ltl's and then come back unless it is LA or San diego. We seem to do pretty well out of those areas.

in fact they said they dont have any loads coming out of idaho, ( so why send us there? ) if you cant get us out,

Simply put, they sent you there because they make big money at it.

Please, do not take this as me being a smart arse because honestly, I am only asking...............As an owner/operator, why is it their responsibility to "get you out of there?" Remember, I am talking strictly business here - ethics are not involved.

The way I understand it, the offer to take the load out there was yours to accept or refuse. Since you accepted the load that they offered to you, both parties rightfully upheld the commitment to each other.

That is all.

Best of luck to you!

What's the big deal. You loaded Friday, delivered Sat/earlySun, today is Sunday, relax. Rome was not built in a few hours. It won't be the end of the world, if, you have to wait till tomorrow. Also, i'm assuming you have already deadheaded a lot to a TRUCKSTOP somewhere. Enjoy it!!

o/o till i die

Well Id say the chances are its not exactly a panther hot spot but the run out was great for a weekend thing. id call panther and have them give a mt move to portland,OR

then in the morning I would call 800-547-2053 and see how much money I could get for the load out of Mcminville,OR going back to Bensenville,IL and see if I couldnt find one or 2 more around the portland area going east.

I would try to get $200.00 bucks for the empty move out of panther just for sending me to ID to begin with.

if you worked for me I could pay you $2700.00 to run back to chicago from portland 50% when loaded and 50% within 4 hours faxed pod but Im just a carrier not broker so you will have to give them 15% of whatever you find.
if this one works out for you send me an email [email protected]
I can give you some more numbers to call maybe make a rate. weight is 10k but may be able to give you a couple of short runs to put with it on the way.

KWExpress is right on the money. There are several places to obtain loads and a few were mentioned. Freightliner is one, and numerous times we have went up towards Seattle to the Boeing plant.
Boeing loads are between 1.80 and 2.10 per mile.
Even running out there for several dollars a mile means nothing if you wind up sitting for days on end. Better off staying east of the Mississippi if your looking at just profit.
If you go out there, utilize the tools you need to get back in a timely fashion.
Find your load, negotiate your rate and delivery and then call Panther. They will do the rest. And as mentioned, they take 15 percent of whatever you book it at.
When it is completed, it comes across the QC like a regular load.

So,hypothetically, you would use a service like GPS 411, find a load, negotiate a price then call Panther with info. Seems way too easy to only give up 15%.
