Any GM van lock out tips?

I usually hide a key in the taillights.

Chip key. Helping Grandma today. She only has one key for her Toyota Van. It's a chip key.
If I drive to locksmith he'll cut and program a spare for $80.

If we wait until it gets lost....$280.
I'll buy her a spare for her BD rather than wait.

I always carry a spare key in my right front pocket, and check it before I go anywhere.
