There are some great fleet owners in the Toledo area. You should think about contacting them that is if you are serious about becoming an expediter. Unless you already own a truck not a van! Because most expedite companies are flooded with vans. Seems like back in the 60's, anyone back then who owned a pick up truck called himself a contractor. Today anyone owning a van calls himself or herself an IC driver or expediter/courier. Sad part is, most (not all) don't have a clue.

Expediting and/or driving period isn't something you can do over night. Unless you are already set up as a company, it takes about 2 or 3 weeks, and some times more, to process a driver before he/she can deliver anything for any company. Legal that is! Some of the smaller companies do it in 1 week and at times less (beware). There is the MVR check, urine, background check, and reference check... ECT... ECT... ECT. AND! If you are doing the right thing, it is going to take you about the same to investigate the company you want to lease on with.

After you check the "find Jobs" tab above, check http://www.expeditecarrier.com/, reread Teacel's response to your last post in our Forum.

The Expediting segment of the trucking industry is generally not conducive to part time work. We owner/Operators are not just driving a truck; we are each operating a business that involves driving a truck. None of us can afford to purchase a vehicle and have it used on a part time basis. That would not be good for our business nor that of the carrier to which we are leased.

The work you seek would most likely be found in your local newpaper ads or the yellow pages under couriers.
