Does anyone know which companies run within a 700 miles limit of their home state? Thanks

why would a company limit their ability to make money like that??? that being said, some companies might let YOU limit yourself to those mileage limits....

I've worked for a couple comapnies that let me set the mile limit, I always tried to stay in the 400-600 mile range, that seemed to be my best profit window.

Miller does almost that. They give you a run out and find you a backhaul coming back to indy. So they can get you a load out again. I works out pretty good cause i get home about every other night.

Do they also do that for their cargo van drivers?

There are companies that run you up and back, or at least in a loop. Some companies have a strong local/regional customer base, That's generally how I run my own truck for my company, due to the fact that our rate structure didn't collapse during this recession the way most of the "big dogs" did. When you're talking about a large difference in revenus between taking care of my own customers vs. a partnership with a big carrier, it doesn't make sense to stay out and bounce around.

But I have no limits on the distance. We will run all 48.

Yes, they run pretty much all there trucks that way.

What is a backhaul rate usually like for a cargo van? I know a guy who does some partner carrier work for them. They seem to have a lot of sprinter work out of the Indianapolis and Ft. Wayne area. They also pay pretty good.

Thanks Corley and Jefferson. Is that Millers out of Indy? Jefferson, could you name the companies that you hauled for? I sure would like to know. Chef, I have been doing this work for many years and it is time for a change for me. What is good for one company may not work for another. I am looking for the other company.
