I currently have a set of rabbit-ears for getting a TV signal. It is adequate, but not optimal. Who has the best recommendation for a new uhf/vhf antenna for my next van?

How 'bout an external cell antenna/booster? Does anyone have experience with, or recommendation for, one of these gadgets?

Awwww come on Terry, splurge a lil and get a mobile dish installed.
I used to subscribe to DISH and go out and put up the dish and find my signal by hand, but they did something that made the endeavor more complex and harder to pinpoint the satellite. So I dropped it.
Now, its just the typical antenae on the side of my truck or, get TIVO and program it to record up to 80 hrs of yer favorites and burn em onto DVD's and take em with you, thats what I do

The nice thing with using a DVR at home is when you do watch them you can fast forward through all the commercials. You could do that of course with tapes or dvd's you burn to take with you. I'd like to get one of the satellite antennas for the roof. I'm thinking maybe the fat guy in the red suit may get one for me this winter... if only I get a red suit by then.

there is a number of outside antennas for uhf and vhf for the car and truck(seen them at the flyingJ) i personally have no experiance with any of them, i yet to get a tv for my truck. Also they do have self tuning satalite for the car or truck expensive for the equipment in my view. There was a thread about it in here resently.

I hope you have better luck than the many reviews I read. 2 1/2 stars out of 5 makes this 46" item an iffy buy for a van or other mobile unit that may not have the opportunity to park at the optimum angle to the TV transmitters. Looking forward to your review and thanks for the reference.

I'm leaning toward an " AntennaCraft 5MS921 omnidirectional, but would still like to hear any other antenna comments from happy users.

I know this will nohelp anyone now and it sounds a tad expensive. In a year or 2 some device that you place on top of your car is supposed to be able to have sat TV phone internet and some other cool stuff running at like 3000
