Another summer almost over

I did not find a single morel mushroom this past spring.. I have not had a chance to cast a single line to fish (in fact, I didn't even buy a fishing license this year).. I haven't set my tent up this summer.. there have been no hikes or walks in the woods.. no gardening or pulling weeds.. only 2 very short trips to the lake and I only went in the water during one of them.. this summer has just flown by and I missed it. lol

Not to worry, you still have about a month of summer left and the best fishing of the season is just NOW starting!! Not all is lost yet!!!

Thanks layout. Maybe while we are here at home for several days, I can convince hubby to buy a couple licenses and at least get a little fishing in. Hmmm.. I'm going to have to find my pole first. I know it's stashed in the garage somewhere.... maybe I need to make a trip to Dundee and check out Cabelas first. lol

They are starting to take perch out around "E" bouy off Toledo Beach Marina. The catfish are doing good in the channel behind the power plant below Luna Pier. No boat? Try walking out on the beach in front of that power plant and fish the outflows from the plant. Lots of cats in that area.

Now that sounds like fun. I haven't been to Luna Pier in a long time. I'll have to check the weather forecast. Sounds like a great Sunday excursion.. pack a cooler with some bottled water.. stop by Cabelas on the way.. we be good to go!

Don't fish off of Luna Pier, take Luna Pier road till it dead ends at the Lake, walk out onto the beach and take a right turn. Walk down the beach towards the power plant about 1/4 mile, you will see the outflow from the plant.

The summer did blow by didnt it...I didnt get out as much as I wanted to either...Everytime I got to the house I was afraid to get to far from the truck,,with things so slow early on I didnt dare mark off each time I went home,,so mostly stayed available and sat on my couch or just hung around the house

Oh well,,,,,,,,looks for the tobaggon and sled
I got a heck of a sledding hill off my back porch........

Well I couldn't talk hubby into going to Luna Pier so still no fishing for me this year. He can be such a stick in the mud sometimes. lol

Good,,,if ya check the classifieds maybe I can set ya up with a new set of snow tires if they fit your truck.....I gotta sell em as I should get ready myself with new tires....

Oh great.. toboggans and sleds.. snow tires.. drag the winter coat out of the closet.. has anyone seen my gloves? Tire chains.. do we have any of those? Check the anti-freeze.. new wiper blades.. refill the washer fluid.. where is the long handled ice scrapper? I think I need new boots. Test the Webasto and wash the blankets!

*sigh* See what you've done Slo-Ride? Summer's not even over with yet and I'm obsessing about winter!

There was no summer in Wisconsin this year. Last night it was in 40s in Kenosha Wi. tonight they say say it will break records for cold. Including Chicago Area. So those spending the night in Elk Grove Express center get the covers ready,. The only good thing about Summer almost being over is Its like the Chicago Cubs!!!!!!!!! MAYBE NEXT YEAR.

Here in Mid-Mich the weatherman stated that this summer we had only 5 days of 90 plus degrees compared to previous years of 16-25 days.
Yup our furnace kicked on in August.
