This is just horrible, I wonder what the real story is. The real tragedy is that the Hero's made it to ssfety, only too loose their lives at home. My heart and prayers go out to the familes.

If this is a PTSD issue or the same nonsense as that coward doctor?

One story mentioned "medications". That seems to be a common thread. This REALLY needs to be looked at. The same can be said for those with severe brain injury. It becoming apparent that they do not have a handle on that at all. Early reports say this soldier was dealing with both a brain injury and "mental illness". There are many soldiers dealing with the affects of these brain injuries. It is reasonable to assume that, as they age, they will see more problems.

Having a legitimate mental/head injury makes this really sad. I knew a few people that were messesed up from Nam, they were really nice, good people that for some reason they would temperarly go nuts. They would be embarrased after they experienced an episode.

The Medical Leadership needs to re-evaluate their procedures with Brave Men and Woman returning from active war zones.

Do need to add a coworker who was a member of an "Extraction Team," he said that he has severe guilt from their duties in Afghanistan. He has a family with three young children.

As someone that works with wounded daily, I understand how things like this happen. PTSD and other issue not treated or self treated can do so much damage. We have been trying to get our music rehab program at Hood for over a year and space is an issue. But the wounded love it because they get the treatment then need and dont even know it. It just flows. Music is natural. I pray for the shooter because I am sure in some way, he is a victim also. I pray for everyone families and the survivor's.

I haven't seen what his actual MOS or job was but many can still cause emotional and mental harm resulting in some severe cases of PTSD. I worked with one guy that had to clean the body part and fluids out of the vehicles after they were hit and sat in the sun for a day or two. Many of them were his friends and he had to clean and see body's messed up in ways they should never be. Its a hard job and he suffers everyday from what he saw and smelled. Its though out there even for the guys behind the fence.

Was the shooter a Puerto Rican Muslim or something? Otherwise, what Pat Dollard has to say is rather irrelevant.

What the shooter was, or wasn't, is irrelevant ... what is relevant is the context Dollard said it in ... read the TPM article (linked at the bottom of my previous post):

The context Dollard said it in was in a different article, not this EO thread. The context of the Fort Hood shootings may be relevant, maybe, and it's a stretch, but his comments aren't relevant at all to what happened. I could see it if he made those comments here on EO, but he didn't. I could see it if Ivan Lopez was a Muslim, but he's not. I could see it if, say, NBC News carried his comments about the shooting as news, but they have not. Dollard's comments, in response to today's shootings at Fort Hood, is about as non-sequitur as is talking about boats in a thread that's about something not boats. So why bring up the non-sequitur comments of a mentally-deranged, insane, psychopathic right-wing nutcase retard? It only forces to change the topic of the thread to him and/or his comments, none of which are relevant to what happened, as neither he nor his comments are relevant to the incident. If a discussion were to ensue in this thread regarding Dollard's off-topic comments, then we have a successful thread hijacking. I'm just trying to prevent that.
