I have to say deadliest catch is the most real, you can't fake the injuries and stuff like that. IRT is pretty fake, sure it's dangerous and people die and drive off the road, but alot of the story line is contrived.

I agree! It's the hyped competition that bothers me. Even these shows where they remodel a house, there has to be a contrived deadline to compete against.
How about a show, Expedite Truckers: Where real expedite truckers do battle with depressed rates due to competition, extreme weather conditions, open to interpretation DOT rules and solar flares.

Truck driving stressful? really? I won't get into that.
Maybe it is the makeup tech who is making her look old and tired or the camera angles. I feel sorry for her if something is truly wrong but to go from a vibrant smiling giggling Lisa to something that is akin to "an interview with a vampire" look is shocking.
Has anyone actually seen the new season to see what I am saying?

God get it right we are talking about the Alaska part of the show, not the Canadian part where they trash trailers while making easy turns or bend rims because they were yahooing along the 'ice' road.
I think you are partially right, her sunken cheeks and her drawn eyes may be a makeup issue. You know it reminds me of those fashion ads in the 90's - the heroin look the models strive for at that time.

I wasn't there long enough to try out, I was only empty for 3 hours then went to Delphi in Los Indios to deliver in Chicago. The odd thing is when I did a Mac 19 to see where I stood it was 1 ST 1 Sprinter and 1 CV, which given my carrier of choice was quite shocking.

You seem to be saying that if you put people in front of a camera it's not real. But, it's reality television!! It has to be real!! It's not like they can edit and delete scenes to create a storyline...
I watched part of one of the first season Survivor and thought it was incredibly dumb, wouldn't last. But, I thought the WNBA wouldn't last 5 years...

I don't watch irt or the loggers...i do watch "The Deadliest Catch" and the fishermen, the "American Pickers" and their Sprinter, and the "Swamp People"...
I also watch "Pawn Stars"...(now if you can get "Chumlee"
Oh and when i really want a laugh, I watch the crew from "Lizard Lick Towng" and their "re-enactments" of their repossesions business on "Operation Repo"...it is sooo over the top it is hilarious....

Can't stand "Harcore Pawn" though. Tooo much attitude.
Get upset with the customers on Pawn Stars. Appraiser says their item is worth $3000. Rick offers 'em $600. Old Man offers 'em $75. Then the spill goes on about how they will have to sit on it a while, this-that, and a whole bunch of other hooey. Customer finally settles for $600 on that item that's worth $3000. I've yelled at the TV more than once over that crap.
Cory (the son) has no personality whatsoever. He's just "duuhhhh??" Got his butt handed to 'em though in 1 episode. Lady came in with a "Dewey Defeats Truman" Chicago Newspaper who already had it appraised for around $2000. Cory said there were thousands out there and it was only worth $25. I went online, they are rare nowadays, and the last one that sold at auction went for like $1800 or so. Idiot......
Anyways, Google "Pawn Stars Scripted" and you'll see that Yes, it is all scripted. Customers, Appraisers, and all.
American Pickers...Anyone catch the Episode where they were having problems with the Sprinter van? Mike said he keeps on top of the maintenance for that Sprinter, and that he just changed the spark plugs recently. Moron............
IRT......I'm on their FB page. Called Rick a "worthless driver" on their wall a couple of weeks ago. He didn't like that and actually answered me back. Had a couple of good private messages back and forth with him on FB. Let's just say we're not going to be having a beer together anytime soon.
Lizard Lick Towing and Operation Repo......... OR is just a Joke. Those guys have never been in the Repo business at all. Google 'em. They have a small community oriented theatre where they used to put on plays and stuff. It's all an act. Same with Lizard Lick. The Convienence Store directly across the street from them used to have a Blog up that kept up with all the rehearsals before they taped the actual show. They were blogging about the stunts, putting up the video from their security cameras that was covering all the "rehearsals" and such, just about everything well before it was ever filmed, editted, and then aired on TV. The producers of the show got wind of it and had their Lawyers shut it down. It was real interesting to read though.

In 20 (21??) seasons of Survivor (10-11 years) I have never missed an Episode. I have been in front of the TV every Thursday, or the last couple of seasons, Wednesday at 7PM watching it. EVEN when I was out on the road!!!

I can honestly say i ave never watch a complete episode of Survivor...5 minutes is all i can take...I may have watch irt twice, that was enough...all the others i listed that i watch, lol those are just funny stuff and make you laugh..yea the repo guys would be in jail if they tried 1/10 of the crap the show on tv...the deadliest catch, while rehearsed seems to be the best of them, but the pawn shows and repo gus, they are just hilarious.....oh and i have never seen any of American Idol...not 1 minute at all....even when the girl from my hometown was on, i have no interest in that crap at all.....now my 17 y/o daughter and my 78 y/o mom, they sit on the phone together and watch each show....

I can understand that "After the Catch" is probably rehearsed but not Deadliest Catch - did you see some of those injuries lately

Oh Yeah.......Lisa on IRT looks like a burned out Porn Star this season with that new hair color. Last 2 seasons she looked like a little doll behind the wheel of that truck. With her looks this season, she's gives a whole new meaning to the term "Lot Lizard". Instead of her walking the truckstops knocking on the doors of trucks, the drivers are out walking the parking lot knocking on her door!!!

"Scripted" would have been the better word to use and remember, while the show is about the fishing and being out on thesea...not all of the show is filmed on the sea...

I can uderstand that "After the Catch" is probably rehearsed but not Deadliest Catch - did you see some of those injuries lately
I can say for a fact that Deadliest Catch is all real.
One of my best friends (been friends going on almost 30 years now) has actually worked with and filmed some stuff for the Hillstrands through his contacts at The Discovery Channel. He owns his own Video Production Company and freelances amongst several different venues within the entertainment industry. He had a chance to become part of the film crew on The Deadliest Catch season before last, but the Doctors wouldn't allow it. It is a dangerous job, even for the camera men. Doctor told 'em they needed somebody younger, in better shape, and that a 40 something year old "adreneline junkie" just wouldn't make it.

I give her the benefit she isn't on drugs or losing herself with all the fame and hope it is the hair color and the makeup.
I watch IRT & love it. Lisa explained the hair color change as "I was tired of being seen as a dumb, helpless blonde"; she believes she'll be taken more seriously as a trucker if she doesn't look so ditzy. IMHO she is improving, skillwise; Carey (the African American guy) seems to think so too.
I'm waiting to see how Maya makes out on the Dalton; that's gotta be a BIG change from working in NYC!
