I wouldn't give her the time of day, that's for sure.

Neither would I. Nor would I ever participate in a dog and pony show where my employees PRETEND to listen and express concern for our plight and then, as always, go back to Washington and pass "Regs" or "rules", that have the force of law that for all intents and purposes just "stick it in my ear". She can kiss my grits, along with the rest of the manure in Washington. It would seem that ALL the scum in Washington have forgotten the FACT the they work for US, NOT the other way around.

Now that's not nice. I'd love to hear her speak... at the Memphis Pilot. At least there, she'd be in good company. Here lizard, lizard, lizard. LOL

Linda,

This is not the first time you have had direct contact with Ms. Ferro through your Trucking Solutions Group. And it is not the first time expediters here in the EO Open Forum have voiced important opinions about the FMCSA and how their rulemaking processes and rule changes are a bitter pill for expediters to swallow.

As an expediter yourself who has cultivated many relationships in the expediting community, have you ever used your access to Ms. Ferro to raise these issues directly with her? If so, what was her response? If not, why not? You are an expediter too and the rules (at least some of them) suck for you as much as they do for us, do they not?

Gee tough crowd at EO lately.

Thanks Linda and Bob. We can't make it this year. J and I appreciate your taking time to keeping the conversations going. I' m sure your veiws will be expressed and will be the same if we could attend.
Ambassadors are needed. Clear conversations and views expressed and reinforced from all areas of the trucking industries.
Thanks again for being a good representation of the expediters.

If it's not too late, please ask her one question:
since they continue to IGNORE drivers input, why bother asking us.
ask her when was the last time drivers input made it to the final rule.
please DO remind her that despite THOUSANDS of drivers comments, asking for flexibility, we are ignored in the final rule, and are forced to comply with striker restrictions, making our lives miserable.

These idiots who are in Washington don't give a rat's *** about the truckers or the industry. I find it very insulting when a person who has never driven, let alone be behind the wheel of a truck, tells us how to do our job, and makes laws for us, affecting us.I know many have said in the past it is not the way, but I still say completely shut down for 3-4 days and see them change their tune.

And then there are those in this industry who think they are buddy-buddy with the politicians in Washington, thinking they are doing good, when in all reality, they are just a puppet on a string, a pacifier, if you will.

Sorry to be so negative, but over the years I have seen this kind of thing time and time again.

What we need is push.

No more Mr. Nice Guy.

Just some push.

Exactly, when drivers act like lap dogs for these politicians it only makes things worse. People should only show up to tell her they hope something ends up parked on top of her during the walk.

That does no good, as there is always someone else waiting to take that job. Scum is prevalent.

I'm as disappointed as you are that our input didn't change the HOS. ( although our input is slowly improving CSA)

Your disappointment is no reason to compare Ann Ferro to a lot lizard or publicly state you wish someone would park on top of her.

No wonder they dismiss our opinions as a group.

I'm glad I don't have to see you guys for my next job performance review.

I'm not a fan of personally trashing someone but I don't currently see anything she has done to benefit the industry. Maybe more interaction like at MATS may help that, but so far it appears she ignores any comments from the trucking industry and seems to pursue her own agenda.
Case in point.
Lawmakers ask Ferro to reconsider rejection of HOS delay

Lets see how much she is listening. And no...not holding my breath.

Agreed and Wow.:(

I can see how easy it is to get cynical, especially under the current administration - but at the very least, let's show support to people from our own circles who are trying to make a difference.

You have that backwards, they dismissed the drivers first and that is the reason we need to stop playing their games. They have ignorant, power hungry, scum bags like Ferro pretend they are listening and gullible, well meaning drivers jump at the chance to feel like they are helping. Anyone that joins into her game should realize they are being used as clueless pawns and absolutely nothing more. We need to stop playing into their hands and do something that actually matters.
