I think maybe this happens when they're chosen because they're a good fit to be in the "clique" and not because they honestly would make a good moderator.
I agree (even s-p-o-o-k-i-e-r :p :D)

If one is at all aware of of the various indications of the personal beliefs/convictions (particularly politics and religion) of most, if not all moderators, it is awfully hard to draw any other conclusion.

If you combine that with the suggestion of the mods being anonymous, you might just get a winning team.
I think you may be on to something here ..... :D

Folks that don't give their name and hometown in their profile have no credibilty. None.
I gave both mine and my wife's name (although she never comes on here) when I originally signed up.

I later removed that information from my profile for the reasons that Diva stated. Considering that I have been explicitly threatened physically once (and possibly implicitly several more times, although that would be a judgement call) I'd consider it to be a wise move. As was once stated on here (possibly by DoggyDaddy) ya never know exactly who it might be on the other side of that screen name.

I think anyone signing up who is unwilling to supply their actual name and home address location to EO/OTM has no credibility. EO/OTM is a bonafide business run by reputable folks and so poses little real risk to anyone who isn't here for nefarious purposes.

This may be the EXACT answer to the multiple personalities because this information can be verified.

On the other hand....OMG we agreed again....in the same day!

Awww, isn't that sweet? :D

Seriously, when we were batting the idea of the soapbox around, I was hoping that it might show folks that "the other side" isn't all horns & forked tails. In some respects, it's working. :)
Though I'm still wondering about some guys I've never seen without a hat on.....;)

Considering the solidarity from both sides of the aisle, I'll guess I'll have to re-think. I haven't had such problems, keeping myself a bit distant from the, ahhh, passionate discussions that take place in the Box. It's just irritating when the outrageous yahoos show up spouting crapola, protected by their cloak of anonymity.

See, you kids can get along.

Part of the problem, as I see it, is that some of us here (myself included) have personalities similar to your current avatar....just sayin'

LOL... You obviously don't know Bob! You just referred to yourself as a huge wimp that's afraid of your own shadow! Whenever I see those stickers that show a snarling, tough Bulldog I just LMAO.

Oh but Bob's job is to put across a perception rather than reality. Not many will stick around long enough to learn the difference. Darn I love those bullies, they're on "my list"....the one that has the breeds of dogs that I'd like to own when we retire from the truck and move to a place with more yard.

PS to Bob....we like ya even if ya do act like a "girlie dog".

How true this statement is,I do have my home town listed, and wish I had not provided such info when I first registered on EO.

A present and a former member of EO that I have not exactly gotten along with, have more than a couple of times let me know what kind of info that can be found out about you with a little digging on the internet.

On the other hand,I think I showed both that this is a two way street and found out quite a bit of info on them.

You really have no idea what kinds of people that you are dealing with here on EO, so the more you can remain anonymous on here the better.
I have the nearest city listed, I don't actually live in Fort Wayne, IN but close enough if anyone asks where I am from.

Also the idea of a moderator XYZ is a good one, and should be considered.
