Super/grocery markets

You know this is the best option. Ive been walking into super markets instead of restaurant for thr past 10 years more or less and you fill the hand basket up with fruits and vegetable for about $4.00, you eat healthy, you're happy about it and the price is great! Super/grocery markets is an option that no one thinks about when its time to eat.

After becoming disgusted with the price and low quality of restaurant meals in general and truck stop meals in particular we bought a $45 microwave and have been dining on $1.89 (at Walmart) Hormel heat and eat meals. The Pot Roast and Beef Stew are very good. One meal takes 90 seconds to heat. Just the price of three truck stop meals paid for the machine. It is small enough to fit in our Ford van along with the small generator that runs it.
Bon Apetit!

I don't know if all of the Flying J's are doing it, but I have seen some turning their restaurants into Denny's. They said they weren't making a profit. Make's you wonder why.

Ad another thing. Just about all grocery stores with a deli have a hot food plate for about 6 bucks. :D Most are more than you can eat.

I quit eating at buffets and started drinking diet pepsi instead of regular. The weight seems to be at a stalemate. Also been walking around more.

Denny's at the Flying J's. There was an article\interview with the Women who runs\ran the old (know I cant think of the outfit Flying J took over) Denny's is paying I believe $20,000.00 per restaurant plus a % of their gross back to the Flying J to be there. P.S. The Article is in the October issue of Pilot magazine.

I'm not sure what the attached picture has to do with this thread, except that it is food related. They say, who ever "they" are that a picture is worth a thousand words. My son and I returned a few hours ago from a foray to White Castle where he shot this picture with his phone.

Diet drinks...augh. Aside from the most heinous after taste, I refuse to consume Nutrasweet. Or that Splenda crap. I'll takes me corn sugars. But when I can get the cane sugar....oh so natural and oh so smooth....mmmm....

Steak. I think I'm gonna have steak tonite. Mostly cause it's been months since I could afford one, and me and the wife a gift card a friend was kind enough to give us. I miss steak.

I plan on running from the truck to the door of wherever I'm at. Weather permitting (ice falls suck). That's my aerobic exercise plan. Gotta build muscle too to go with the trotting about.

The problem is nearly everything is bad for you...depending on the study you read. Exercise is the real key to it all. That's why nations that smoke more and are overwieght (France jumps to mind), and they're healthier than we are. Exercise is key.

So...running it is for me. But I can manage that in short spurts a few times a day. Long as I'm not sprinting every time....

Down with the BMI!

Thanks!
Christopher

Diet sodas have Fructose Corn Syrup in them? Seriously?
Serious as a clogged artery! There are two types of fructose corn syrup; high fructose corn syrup and low fructose corn syrup. Actually I think there also is a medium fructose corn syrup, a medium high fructose corn syrup, a medium low fructose corn syrup and of course an extreme fructose syrup. Quite possibly there is also a "lite" fructose corn syrup.

For simplification my post will only deal with high fructose corn syrup and low fructose syrup. High fructose corn syrup is found in regular soda, Karo syrup, red velvet cake and diabetic comas. Low fructose corn syrup is found in diet sodas, bottled water, Saran Wrap, lite beer and invisible fences.

Low fructose corn syrup is blended with either aspartame, acesulfame, stevia, sucralos or neotame or various combinations. The introduction of these chemicals removes up to 98% of the calories found in high fructose corn syrup resulting in what the FDA considers a "diet" food.

Familiar with the Mancow, the radio guy? He switched from regular to diet Pepsi, made no other change, dropped 30 lbs.

There is no corn syrup of any kind in diet coke. I was once 220 pounds, but when I switched from regular to diet beverages I dropped to 200 in less than 2 months. A little bit of exercise and another 2 months got me to 185 where I belong.

fired at you from my Droideka

Well you might read Moots post. I'm not going to argue the point doesn't matter to me, I don't drink them. But like anything else MODERATION is the key.
A little bit of exercise.
