I always get bacon and eggs with pancakes when I go to Denny's and with rare exception they are good. I've had eggs ruined in various establishments so Denny's is as ok as anywhere else. Maybe if I tried a lot of other things I'd change my opinion but for me they are acceptable.

At least Denny's uses real food in their food. Flying J doesn't.

FWIW, I've delivered to Flying J's twice now with new kitchen equipment, once a gas stove and once an induction oven.

As I understand it Flying J was bought out by Pilot and they are the ones who are changing the Restaurants over to Denny's. The restaurant's used to be run and owned by the Flying J's owners daughter and her husband.

The J and Pilot are merging not being bought out by Pilot. Although Pilot does get the Majority share. I do not think it is finalized yet they still have not jumped the hurdle of it being ok'd by the feds and do face opposition because of a possible monopoly. I do not think Pilot is the one changing them to Dennys since they do not have control yet although I am imagine the idea was heavily influenced by them.

THIS JUST IN:

Pilot just announced they have purchased Denny's, Perkins, Village Inn, and Marie Calendar's, and are converting all of them to Wendy's.

9th commandment disclaimer: Not really. But it's probably coming down the road.

Taco Bell was the only restaurant to survive the Franchise Wars. John Spartan:
So? Lenina Huxley:
So, now all restaurants are Taco Bell.

There's one in Woodhaven, (or Trenton, whatever that is there on West Rd.) They could use a man with your skills there....

There is one in Monroe, only 8 miles from the house!! As with most White Castles they could use armed guards!! I can do that! There is also one in Taylor and Riverview. The is little you can tell me about that area, I was raised there. I live there. I KNOW!! A NEW GREAT business adventure. White Castle delivery out on the Detroit River!!! WOW!!! I would not even have to be ARMED for that!! PERFECT!!

I come from the generation before the crave.

My generation grew up with the 5 cent slider, the nickle mighty whitey one. The place where you knew they didn't play hockey with the frozen patties or see how fast a roach would last in the deep fryer.

To us frozen isn't happening unless we freeze them. You didn't get it from the grocery store, packaged in a plastic wrap. If you were away from home, it was always good to get someone visiting with 36 White Castle burgers to amaze and amuse the locals.

To us the happy smiling face behind the clean counter in an equally clean eatery asking us how many colon cleansing units do we want was just part of the experience.

Watching the white clad clean skilled worker doing his or her magic on the grill was an inspiration to all. Just thinking about those rehydrated onions, that raw square patty with those five "quick cook air holes" sitting steaming brings back a lot of good memories.

Like a lot of others of my generation, we had contests to see how many we could eat, some wimped out at ten while others went on to reach thirty. Even though we didn't show up for work for a few days after that, it was all about camaraderie of the contest. But more it was all about being a patron of the White Porcelain Palace known as White Castle and the delicacy of those burgers with the five holes and the rehydrated onions it was steamed on that matter.

Billy Ingram would have been proud of my generation, to us there wasn't a crave or hyped marketing but just White Castles and the hamburger he strive to perfect.
