No, Michele Obama does not get paid to serve as the First Lady and shedoesn't perform any official duties. But this hasn't deterred her from hiring an unprecedented number of staffers to cater to her every whim and to satisfy her every request in the midst of the Great Recession.
Just think Mary Lincoln was taken to task for purchasing china for the White House during the Civil War. And Mamie Eisenhower had to shell out the salary for her personal secretary.
How things have changed! Can anyone Say "Nepotism?" And or Poilitical Paybacks? Wonder just how many of those employees have Connesctions to ACORN? Or Maybe those Jobs are Considered some of the New Jobs Obumma Said he would Create for this Country!! What a Waste of Tax Payer Money, She should be made to Pay for those People out of her Own Pocket, Then we would see Just How Badly she needed them!!:mad:

Eleanor Roosevelt had a staff of four if I am not mistaken. I know she paid for most of them out of pocket.

But let's be honest here

Michelle Obama is no Eleanor Roosevelt.

To be exact, miss "I had a hard time paying back my student loans" obama does do 10% of what Eleanor Roosevelt did on a slow day, so why the staff?

When Mrs. Roosevelt entered the White House in 1933, she was on a speaking tour, running some businesses and in the early part of the first term started to write a daily newspaper column, "My Day".

For the twelve years of the administration, she did more traveling and more diplomatic work than any other first lady has since combined.

She wasn't worried about showing the world her new elite status or what she was wearing, but she was truly a first lady.

Michelle Obama reminds me of Monika Conyers.

I surely hope that no one is surprised by this. Business as usual in Washington. We are fools, sheeple, being sheared. Take back the control or watch this stuff increase.
