Alumi-Bunk Sleeper Questions.

Ok i have a few questions about alumibunk sleepers. Unfortunatly i can only remember the one now. My one question is what is the plugs for on the side of the sleeper. Its a male plug ends that you would hook up to an extension cord. I know there is also one by the driver side door steps. My guess is the one by the steps is for the Block Heater.. I'm not sure what the one on the sleeper is for except maybe to power the sleeper (maybe the batteries too) instead of idleing.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

That is for your shore power. When you plug in it runs most of the items in your sleeper, except the truck heat and air.
You are correct, the one under the drivers door is for the block heater.

So then... If i was to part at say IdleAir i would run the extension cord to that and i would be able to not have to start the truck due to having some dead batts? The reason i ask is because the way fuel prices are and it actually seems more appealing to get idleair i was wondering if i had to start the truck every so often to keep the batts from running low.

Thanks for the reply.

Another question on this topic. If the batterys were low could i plug into that and eventually the battery get charged?

Jim is correct. It won't charge your batteries. But it will keep select electrical items from draining your batteries. In the winter you could use their electrical box as well to plug in the engine block heater.
Then the idle air would supply the heat/air, phone, and cable service.
It may vary from truck to truck, but the 110 on the outside will supply electric to the fridge, tv, 2 wall plugs, inverter, microwave, and the bunk lights. That is what it works on it ours.

It depends on your inverter. I have a Magnum Energy inverter that charges the batteries when plugged into shore power. It has a 4 stage charger that goes from a heavy charge to just keeping the batteries topped off. This is on a Bentz sleeper.

Those inverters are pretty neat with that feature. I don't believe they use them in the AB. Might be an option they want to make available though.
