Favorite movies? So many so little time.

Oh boy…. I got a long list but most are older films but a few are relatively new.

Here is the short list -
Stalag 17
Twelve O'Clock High
The Lady Killers (the original with Alec Guinness, but the Tom Hanks version is almost as good)
Monsieur Verdoux
Saving Private Ryan
The Third Man
Unforgiven
Night People
Toy Story
Toy Story2 (I saw this at a Disney previewing event and almost p*ssed my pants on the ‘out takes’)
Wallace & Gromit
A Touch of Larceny

Recommend film - This Land Is Mine, 1943
Very good but almost forgotten war time film about living under the occupation of a very suppressive government with censorship based on reality of NAZI occupation of France and Eastern Europe. It not only speaks of print censorship, but thought censorship as well. Charles Laughton’s speech in the movie stands up to Jimmy Stewart’s speech in Mr. Smith goes to Washington and Gary Cooper’s Mr. Deed/Meet John Doe in everyway and there has yet been a speech in any film that I can find that is so simplified and moving about the rights of man. I find that the message is simple and clear, don’t tolerate oppression (political correctness) in anyway.

Put me down for all the Wallace and Gromets. I like the shorts better than Curse of the Wererabbit. All the Cohen Brothers movies. The stranger and quirkier the movie the more often I can watch it.

There are a lot of movies on here that I even forgot about.

One that I forgot to mention was the Green Mile, that was a great movie - of course, almost all of Tom Hanks movies are great. I didn't care for the one that was about him being stranded on that island (can't even think of the name of it)

There have been many movies that I could watch over again and again, but rarely do.I have watched "BULLIT" at least 5 times, when it was mentioned by some car magazine to count the number of hubcaps that the black charger loses in the chase scene.(I won't say how many, but I would check the spare tire,LOL)

Also,I can't seem to pass by any old John Wayne movie when scanning the channels to see what's on.especially if it's "They were expendible",or "In harm's way".
